Hymn Devotional

All the Way My Savior Leads Me

So, are you rejoicing in your sufferings? Our sufferings will only be for a short time, especially when we compare it to endurance and then to the hope that we receive in spending eternity with our Lord.

Are you looking forward to that glorious day? Paul was very zealous in trying to have in making the Word of God fully known. He suffered countless events as he tried to minister to people. In II Corintians 11:21-30, Paul was boasting of all that he has been through. But he concludes in verse 30, "If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness."

We also should be like Paul in ministering to one another. But we need to remember, that if we boast, we need to boast in our weakness. Then, when we get to heaven, we will see all of ours friends that we have loved long ago. Seeing their faces, and especially the smile on our Savior will be glory for us! So let us minister to one another, making sure that they are on that narrow road.

Prayer:

Lord,

There are many things that we feel are like thorns in our side. We tend to feel like Paul in wanting them removed. Help us to learn that our sufferings are there to help us promote Your church. Help us to learn from our weaknesses how much we need to depend on You.  Give us the zeal that Paul had in making Your Word fully known.

We are grateful to Paul in the example that he showed us of how we need to present every member mature in their beliefs. We know that we will be facing hardships. But, help us to look forward to that day where we will be safe on Your beautiful shore, seeing Your smiling face in welcoming us home.

Right now we feel insecure with what we are doing. We feel that our thorn in our flesh is too much. Help us to realize that You are there, seeing us through our difficult times.

We look forward in seeing our friends of old. We are grateful for  those who have inspired us, to encourage us to go on no matter what. In the end we look forward in hearing You say, 'Well done good and faithful servant!

Amen.
