“I loved reading this book by my friend and neighbor, Gene! It is very evident that Gene had investigated the scriptures thoroughly! A Closer Walk with God was written by a man who truly loves our Lord and God and wants to share with as many people as possible! It's been a "few" years since Gene and I were roommates at Nebraska Christian College. Even back then he was the studious one, I was the "let's have fun" guy. Genesis is my favorite book of the Bible, a discovery made at NCC as well as a love for Creation studies. When I saw Gene had written a book based on the characters in Genesis, I had to get it.
As I read it, my thoughts were "a good, basic book" that would be great for new Christians and a good study book for a small group, and even for teenager classes in a church.
But it is also a good "refresher course" for us "older" Christians, a reminder that we are not alone and that God is with us, if only we decide on a closer walk with Him. Which is a great title, as well!   (Bird whisperer - Amazon)

"A Closer Walk" is a good, refreshing, and encouraging book, thus far. I'm beginning ch. 4 and don't want to put it down but it's my bed time. Thanks for writing a book that is practical, not pompous, and it's easy to grasp. I appreciate your work!

Gene is a gifted writer. This new book will help and encourage anyone in their walk with God. Gene's love for God shines throughout each chapter as he gives amazing Biblical examples to help guide our lives. I really enjoyed how he comes across as serious but light hearted. This would be a great book for those who have a strong faith and especially those who are new believers or those just seeking truth.  (TK - Amazon)

Gene does it again with another Biblical book that will challenge you in your spiritual walk with God and encourage you to grow in your faith. As I read this I took several notes. As a fellow Christian author, I always appreciate voices that seek to share God's truth. Our Promise Land: A Journey to Faith and Freedom offers encouragement for those navigating their walk with Christ and seeking to live in the freedom He provides. There's sincerity and solid truth in the message, and I admire the heart behind it. While the editing could be improved, the author's passion for helping others grow in faith comes through clearly.
